Grade 1

Grade 1 at Highpeak Schools marks the beginning of formal primary education under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). At this stage, learners build on the strong foundation developed in PP2 by strengthening their reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Students are guided to read simple passages with understanding, construct clear sentences, and confidently solve basic mathematical problems. Learning is interactive and practical, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Beyond academics, Grade 1 focuses on nurturing discipline, independence, and positive social behavior. Learners participate in group activities, creative arts, sports, and class discussions that promote teamwork and communication.
